Killing Pigs in Hungary for Fun

It’s called Disznovagas, which would translate as Pig Cutting, but it really means Pig Killing Festival. It should really translate to waking up at 4am while it’s -20 C (-4 F), drinking a bunch of alcohol to stay warm, and then doing a lot of really hard work to make a few sausages.

The only reason I mention it, is because I attended, or participated in one (hey, it’s cultural) a couple years ago in the severe countryside of Hungary (Hungarians, it was deep in the Nagyalfold) and ended up in the local newspaper.
